CEO
Simon has an affinity with New Zealand primary industries and takes real pride in showcasing premium New Zealand brands to the world, having spent six years as Chief Executive of New Zealand’s largest meat exporter, Silver Fern Farms. Before this, Simon spent ten years at Zespri where he held various roles, producing and marketing kiwifruit internationally. Prior to that, Simon spent 14 years in various locations overseas working for French environmental services business, Veolia. He took over the reigns as CEO of Indevin from Duncan McFarlane in 2024.
Group Chief Financial Officer
A loyal Cantabrian, Steve began his career with Lion Nathan before extensive experience in senior financial roles internationally with Group Danone and Zuellig Pharma in markets spanning Asia Pacific, Middle East, Central Europe, Southern Africa. Steve joined Indevin in early 2018 and leads our Finance team.
Director of Operations
Bringing over 15 years’ experience in the wine industry around the world, Richard joined Indevin in 2020 and leads our operations. He is responsible for performance, development, improvement and ethical compliance of our procurement and strategic supply function.
Chief People Officer
Michelle is qualified with a BA in Sociology, Education, Anthropology and Psychology and an LLB (Hons) in Employment Law from Victoria University. She spent the first 10 years of her career as an employment lawyer in NZ and London and brings more than 10 years’ experience in senior leadership roles at Fonterra, including General Manager of Culture. Michelle joined Indevin in 2023 and leads our People & Performance team.
Chief Technology Officer
With a degree in mechanical engineering and a master in engineering management Peter has spent two decades working as a data scientist across the banking, technology, media and retail sectors. He uses these skills and experiences to ensure Indevin stays at the forefront of technology and production processes.
Chief Supply Chain Officer
Gareth is a highly experienced leader and manager with over 30 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management. Having joined Villa Maria as Chief Supply Chain Officer in 2018, he now also takes on the Indevin Supply Chain portfolio, using his broad depth of business acumen to support his team in reaching their full potential and continuing to achieve enviable results.
Director of Winegrowing
Starting in the wine industry as a Cellar Hand in 1990, Patrick worked his way up, accumulating an enormous amount of knowledge and experience from hands on winemaking and viticulture management to sales strategy and brand ambassador, executive management to mentoring, coaching and talent development. As our Director of Winegrowing, Patrick takes responsibility for Indevin’s winemaking and viticulture strategies, all with the goal of ensuring we are making the right wine for our global partners.
Global Marketing & Communications Director
Originally from Northern England, Sarah cut her teeth in the UK wine trade before moving to New Zealand in 2010. Having spent over 15 years in wine marketing and building brands in domestic and export markets, Sarah joined Villa Maria in 2017 and now leads the global marketing and communications team for Indevin Group. Sarah is a proud founding member and ongoing supporter of Women in Wine NZ.
Chief Sales Officer - Indevin
Having been introduced to Indevin via his role at Lion, Tim joined us in late 2014, managing commercial matters within the sales team. Tim has been a key part of establishing Indevin’s relationships with some of the world’s leading wine retailers and drinks companies. Tim leads our international market teams to success by focusing on our growth strategy and market development.
Indevin General Counsel
Alex is passionate about taking the best of New Zealand to the world. After starting a legal career with a large law firm, Alex has worked both as in-house counsel and in global sales roles, in both New Zealand with Fonterra and in Asia with an SGX-listed conglomerate. Alex is a father of three, part time junior rugby and cricket coach, and enjoys mountain biking and skiing. Alex joined Indevin in 2022.
Chief Sales Officer - Villa Maria
Sam’s passion has always been in the sales function, with the bulk of his early career in New Zealand in FMCG with Coca-Cola, Heinz Wattie’s and Hansells Food Group where he led various sales teams of size and scale. More recently Sam founded a love for NZ global exports with Manuka Health as GM for Asia Pacific. Sam joined Indevin in 2022 and has responsibility for the global branded sales business for Villa Maria.
